Go to your PlayStation console, sign in to the account you want to deactivate, and navigate to Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PS4 > Deactivate. If you're on a PS5, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play > Disable.

I've done it before, and it's super easy. Just make sure you don't overlook the 'Deactivate' option under Account Management. Did it on my PS4 without a hitch!
