I've done it myself! Stock up on some dynamite to clear rocks blocking the path. Then go to the maze under the Taiga biome.
You can get blue wood (Cavecrawler Wood) by navigating through the maze under the Taiga biome. Bring some lights and a small vehicle to make it easier!
Pro tip: Bring a small truck and some dynamite. Blue wood is in the maze under the Taiga Zone!
Honestly, you just need to memorize the maze path. It can be a pain, but blue wood is worth the effort!
