Purified Gems can be used during Shadow Raids to weaken the Shadow Boss. Have them in your bag, and a 'Use Purified Gem' option will appear during the raid battle.

You just need to keep the Purified Gems in your bag when battling Shadow Pokemon in raids. You'll get a prompt to use them at the right time.

To use Purified Gems in Pokemon GO, you need to participate in Team GO Rocket battles. Just have them in your inventory and they'll automatically weaken the Shadow Pokemon's charged moves!
