You can't change your Spotify username, but you can change your display name! Just go to 'Edit Profile' in the app and update your display name. Easy peasy!
From my experience, you just need to go to 'Settings' > 'View Profile' > 'Edit Profile' and change your display name!
Unfortunately, Spotify usernames are set in stone. You can, however, change your display name in the app settings.
