Digging up treasure in Fallout 76 is like playing hide and seek with the ground. First, you gotta have a treasure map in your inventory. These maps are usually found on enemy corpses or tucked away in containers around the wasteland. Each map is specific to a location, showing a scribble of where the treasure’s buried. Head to the area, look for landmarks similar to what's on your map, and when you're close, a prompt to 'Dig' will magically appear, provided you're standing in just the right spot. So, keep your eyes peeled and start digging!

Just look for the mound of dirt that's kinda out of place and has bits of stuff sticking out. No map, no treasure. Simple.

Honestly, finding the exact spot to dig can be a bit of a pain. I wandered around the marked area for ages the first time. Keep at it, and when in doubt, walk slower. The prompt can be finicky.

If you're a Fallout 76 player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:
