The Steam Deck starts to throttle performance as it approaches 100°C (212°F), so aim to keep it under 90°C for prolonged use.

Over 80°C is pushing it; keep some airflow going.

I've been gaming hard on my Steam Deck, and when it hits around 90°C, I notice the performance dips. Definitely cool it off around then.

In my experience, anything over 85°C is cause for concern. Your games might start to lag or shut down if it gets hotter!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
