In plants, mitosis mainly happens in the meristems (growth regions), and they form a cell plate during cytokinesis. In animals, mitosis occurs throughout the body, and they form a cleavage furrow to divide the cells.

Plant cells build a new cell wall during cytokinesis while animal cells just pinch in half like a drawstring bag.

Plants and animals have mitosis differences mainly in cytokinesis. Plants form a cell plate; animals form a cleavage furrow.

From what I've seen in my biology lab, plant cells are more like construction workers building a wall, while animal cells are more like ninjas cutting through the middle!
