In my experience, a PS3 Move controller usually needs around 2-3 hours for a full charge. You might want to double-check with the manual to be sure!

It takes about 2 hours to fully charge a PS3 Move controller. Plug it in, take a snack break, and game on!

Honestly, just charge it overnight. Easier that way and you won't have to check it constantly.
