Caught a Larvitar during a community day event once. Usually, you gotta look in mountainous areas or participate in certain events to find 'em.
Honestly, Larvitar feels more like a myth! I've been playing for ages and only came across one during an event.
Not that rare, just gotta hunt in the right biomes and keep an eye on special events for a better chance.
