Sorry to burst the bubble, but you actually can't abandon quests in Hogwarts Legacy. What you can do, though, is switch your focus to another quest! Just open your quest journal, select the quest you're interested in, and make it your active quest. This way, you won't be bothered by the one you wanna ditch until you're ready to tackle it again.
There's no direct way to abandon quests in Hogwarts Legacy. Once you've started a quest, it stays in your journal. But you can always switch between quests, so if one's giving you trouble or you're not feeling it, just jump to another and come back to the pesky one later.
Why abandon quests when you can conquer them all? Hogwarts Legacy is all about the magic of completing what you've started!
