Just plug in the HDMI cable to your PS3 and TV, then go to Display Settings and switch to HDMI. Done deal.

PS3 defaults to RCA cables, so when you switch to HDMI, make sure you go to 'Settings' > 'Display Settings' > 'Video Output Settings' and change it to HDMI, or else you'll be staring at a blank screen.
