It's super easy! Just make sure you've got Developer Mode enabled on your Steam Deck. Then, navigate to the Steam > Settings > System and toggle on the Developer Mode. Once you've done that, you can replace the startup movie file in the system's directory with your video. Make sure your video has the same name as the original file and is in a compatible format. Boom! Custom startup vibes.

Just drop a new video in there with the same name, but honestly, why mess with perfection? The original startup movie has a charm to it!

Pro tip: Keep a backup of the original startup movie file. If anything goes sideways or you change your mind, you can always switch back to the classic startup experience.

As someone who's tried this, make sure your replacement video isn't too long. You don't want to be sitting through a feature film every time you turn on your Steam Deck!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
