Game over in Tetris happens when the pieces reach the top and you can鈥檛 place any more. Too many pieces, nowhere to go!

The game ends when your stack of blocks hits the top of the screen. Personal experience: When that happens, I genuinely feel my soul crumble a bit!

In Tetris, it's game over when the stack of tetriminos reaches the top of the playfield and no more pieces can enter. Basically, if a new piece can鈥檛 spawn, RIP game.
