I've caught like, four Puffskeins and honestly, the trick is just wandering around with the Nab-sack ready. They're not exactly marathon runners, so catching them is easy. Just make sure you already unlocked the Vivarium in the Room of Requirement, or else you'll just be carrying around a Puffskein for no reason.
