From personal experience, using a Bluetooth dongle is the easiest solution. I’ve used one with my PS3 and AirPods, and it works great!

The PS3 doesn’t natively support Bluetooth audio devices like AirPods. But you can get around it! You’ll need a Bluetooth dongle that supports audio transmission. Plug it into the PS3’s USB port, pair the AirPods with the dongle, and you’re good to go!
