Unfortunately, you can't connect a PS3 controller to a Nintendo Switch without some kind of adapter. The two systems use different communication protocols. An adapter is necessary to bridge that gap!

I've tried this myself, and there's no native support for PS3 controllers on the Switch without some kind of third-party adapter.
