Plug the PS3 motion controller into your console using a USB cable, then press the PS button on the controller to pair it. After it's paired, you can use it wirelessly.

From personal experience, I found that plugging the motion controller into the PS3 with a USB cable and pressing the PS button worked flawlessly. Have fun gaming!
