You can't connect a PS3 to a laptop using a USB cable for display purposes. You can, however, connect it for file transfers and controller charging.

Nope, a USB connection won't let you use your laptop as a screen for the PS3. You'll need a capture card and some software for that.

Been there, tried that鈥攄oesn't work. USB is just for data transfer and charging, not gaming.
