Switch on your PS4, then hold the PS button and Share button on the controller at the same time until the light bar flashes. The PS4 will pair with it wirelessly.

Honestly, I've had the best luck pressing both the PS and Share buttons until the light starts to blink. The PS4 takes it from there.
