After throwing or placing the sticky bomb, just press left on the D-pad to detonate it. Boom!

Hold L1 to bring up the weapon wheel, select sticky bomb, then L2 to aim and R2 to throw it. Finally, press left on the D-pad to blow it up.

Guys, it's literally just the left button on the D-pad after you place the bomb.
