Quick catch hack: Hold the berry icon with one finger, drag a Poké Ball with the other, and while holding them both, release the berry finger first. Then, tap the screen to dismiss the berry screen without throwing the ball. Finally, throw the Poké Ball as usual but quickly tap the 'run' button. Bingo, caught without the animation!
