Open your inventory by pressing 'G', then move the food item to your quickbar. Finally, select the food and press 'E'.
Eating in 3008 is all about the 'E' key. Aim at the food and hold down 'E' until your hunger's satisfied.
You just need to press 'G' to open the inventory, then drag the food item to your hotbar, and press the corresponding number key to equip it. Hold 'E' to eat it.
