Consider reapplying thermal paste to your PS3's CPU and GPU. Old thermal paste can dry out, causing overheating and making the fan run louder.

The first thing you should try is cleaning the vents and the fan itself. Over time dust builds up and makes the fan work overtime. Use a can of compressed air to give it a good blowout!

Make sure your PS3 is in a well-ventilated area. If it鈥檚 crammed in an entertainment center with no airflow, it鈥檚 going to get loud trying to keep cool.

Honestly, loud fans are kinda par for the course with older PS3s. You can try basic cleaning, but don't expect miracles.

Speaking from experience, placing your PS3 on a cooling pad can help a lot. It gives the console extra cooling support and helps keep the fan noise down.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
