Honestly, replacing the analog stick entirely solved my problem. You can find replacement parts online and follow a tutorial on YouTube. Did this myself, and my controller feels brand new!
The best way to fix PS3 stick drift is to clean the analog stick. Pop off the stick cap, then use some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab to clean around it. This often clears out any debris causing the drift.
