How to get advanced armor in XCOM 2
First, you gotta research Plated Armor at the proving ground. After that, you build Predator Armor for your squad, and voila, advanced armor!

Eh, who needs advanced armor when you can just not get shot? But if you must, Plated Armor and Predator Armor are your friends.
Research Alien Alloys and Elerium at the lab ASAP. Then, unlock the Proving Ground and get to work on advanced armor projects like Warden or W.A.R. suits.
