As someone who’s sunk way too many hours into this, the trick is in Guru's defense missions. Complete them, and you’re golden!
Honestly, getting past level 80 in Xenoverse 2 just needs some Time Patrol Medal farming and a lot of patience.
First, make sure you've completed the main storyline. Then, you'll need to collect Time Patrol Medals and use them to unlock the level cap at Guru's House in the Namekian time rift area. It's grindy, but worth it!
