You need a second controller. Press Start, sign in, and you're good to go!

Just did this with my sibling last night! Start the game, connect another controller, and press Start on that controller. Boom, two-player co-op!

To play 2-player split-screen on Minecraft PS3, plug in a second controller, and when in-game, press Start on the second controller. You might need to adjust your TV resolution to 720p or higher if you encounter issues!
