From personal experience, this is a breeze. Power down your PS5, remove the faceplate, then you'll see the SSD slot. Slide in the SSD, screw it tight, put the faceplate back, and boot up. You'll be prompted to format the new drive. Done!

Just follow Sony's official guide: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/ps5-install-m2-ssd/. Can't go wrong there!

First, turn off and unplug your PS5. Remove the faceplate by gently lifting the corners. Locate the SSD slot and remove the screw. Insert the SSD, secure it with the screw, replace the faceplate, and boot up your PS5. Easy peasy!

Honestly, it's quicker to watch a YouTube video tutorial. ;) Try this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
