Download the MinVerChk PUP file and run it on your PS3. If your minimum firmware version is 3.56 or lower, congrats, your PS3 is CFW compatible!

Check the model number on the back of your PS3. If it's a FAT model (most likely CECHA, CECHB, CECHC, etc.), you鈥檙e in luck as most are compatible. For Slim models, look for versions with CECH-20xx or CECH-21xx. Super Slims? Sorry, they're mostly out of the running!

Personal experience here: I checked my PS3 Slim鈥檚 model (CECH-2001A), ran MinVerChk, and confirmed it was compatible! Now I'm enjoying custom firmware features. Just make sure to follow guides carefully!

Slim and FAT models are generally the best bets for CFW compatibility; Super Slims, not so much.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
