How to Link Steam to Rockstar Account
Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Just launch any Rockstar game from your Steam library, and it'll prompt you to sign into your Rockstar Social Club account. If you're linking for the first time, you'll get an option to link your accounts right there. Make sure your game is closed before you start this. After linking, Steam will automagically sync with your Rockstar account every time you boot up the game.

Honestly, why bother? Just buy games directly on the platform you're going to use the most. Linking accounts can be a headache with little benefit unless you're really into the social features or need to carry over progress.
Just play the game from Steam, and it'll ask you to log in to Rockstar. That's it. If it doesn't ask, check your game settings or verify the game files through Steam.
Did it last week. Launch the game via Steam, login to Rockstar when prompted and it guided me through the linking process. Super straightforward.
