You can also try scrolling through your old posts to see if your profile pic is in there somewhere. It's a bit manual but works if you remember when you changed it.
Profile pics don't have their own archive on Instagram. If you didn't save them, they're gone.
I change my profile pic often and I always save them to my phone's gallery first. That way, I can always look back!
