Equip an advanced or superior suppressor on your weapon; this can help! Also, the 'Silent Killer' ability from the Gunslinger Sharpshooter tree allows pistol kills to maintain concealment. Stealth ninjas, assemble!

Another tip is to make sure you're not using AoE abilities or explosives. Stick to single-target attacks with the appropriate abilities or gear.
