Just right-click on the Steam icon in your system tray and hit 'Exit'. Boom, Steam closes completely. No need to change any settings.

It's all in the settings. Go to Interface and make sure to check 'Exit Steam when closing the main window'. This way Steam won't stick around after you've closed it.

Super easy fix! Just go to Steam > Settings > Interface and look for the option that says 'Start Steam when my computer starts'. Make sure that's unchecked. Also, check 'Exit Steam when closing the main window'. That way, Steam fully shuts down when you exit out and doesn't just minimize to your taskbar.

Honestly, I never close Steam. I like it running in the background so I can jump back into my games whenever I want. But if you gotta, the settings method is the way to go.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
