Pairing an Xbox One controller to your Steam Deck is super easy! Just turn on your controller by pressing the Xbox button. Then, press and hold the pairing button on the top of the controller until the Xbox button starts flashing. IDK why everyone makes a big deal about connecting controllers. Just plug it in or pair it in the Bluetooth settings. Easy-peasy.
Actually, you don't even need to fiddle with Bluetooth. Just get a USB-C cable, plug one end into your Steam Deck and the other into your Xbox One controller. Instant connection, no hassle of pairing and unpairing. Sometimes, the old-school wired way is just easier and more reliable.
Honestly, just sticking to the Steam Deck's built-in controls is the way to go. Why bother with an Xbox controller?
