From personal experience, make sure you're playing on a TV that supports at least 720p resolution because split screen won't work otherwise. Saved me a headache!

You can also do split screen in the menu. Just make sure both controllers are synced and press start on the second one!

Just connect another controller and press any button on it once you're in the game. Can't get easier than that!
