Yeah, just hold down the PS button on the PS4 controller, and it should function exactly like on a PS3 controller.

You can't do it. The PS4 controller isn't fully compatible with PS3.

From my experience, pressing the PS button on the PS4 controller when using it on a PS3 worked just fine. The two are pretty compatible!
