Just plug it in, leave it be, and it takes care of itself. No need to fiddle with settings or modes. Battery management in modern devices is smart enough.

To put your Steam Deck in storage mode, first, make sure it鈥檚 fully powered off. Then, hit the power button to turn it on and immediately hold the Volume Down button. You'll enter the boot menu. Use the D-pad to navigate to 'Switch to boot picker,' then select 'Reboot to BIOS.' In the BIOS, navigate to the 'Advanced' tab, find 'Battery storage mode,' and enable it. Hit 'Save & Exit,' and you鈥檙e all set!

I've actually done this a few times. It's a bit of a process, but it helps keep your battery healthy if you're not gonna use it for a while. Just make sure you follow the steps closely, especially the part about accessing the BIOS. Miss one step, and you'll just be rebooting normally.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
