Hot take: why even bother? Clearing shader cache might save you some space temporarily, but it'll just rebuild over time as you play. Might as well let the Deck do its thing and focus on gaming.

I had to clear my shader cache last month cause my Steam Deck was acting up. Went to settings, found the Shader Pre-Caching option, and boom, cleared it. Felt like my Deck breathed a sigh of relief, lol. Just make sure you really wanna do it, cause it means games might take longer to load the first time you launch them after clearing.

Removing the shader cache on your Steam Deck is pretty straight forward. Just navigate to your Steam settings, go to the Shader Pre-Caching section, and there you will find the option to clear the shader cache. It's like telling your Steam Deck to take a mini spa day and forget all the heavy lifting it's been doing.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
