Super easy, just press the 'Steam' button, go to Settings > In-Game, and turn off the Performance Overlay. Voilà!

From my experience, just hit the 'Steam' button, head to Settings, then 'In-Game', and disable the Performance Overlay option. It'll disappear!

Hey there! You can remove the performance overlay by pressing the 'Steam' button, selecting Settings, then navigating to 'In-Game', and switching off the Performance Overlay. Easy peasy!
