If you want to take control of your Instagram feed, just click the X to dismiss unwanted suggestions. That's my go-to move!
Instagram's 'Suggested for You' is handy but if it's bugging you, simply tap the X next to the suggestion to remove it! It won't stop more from popping up, but at least it's a start!
