Try holding down the PS button and the Share button at the same time for about 5 seconds. It should reset the controller.

Just plug the controller into the PS3 with a USB cable and press the PS button. It usually does the trick!

Honestly, I've found that just turning off the PS3 and turning it back on can sometimes reset the controller without needing the button.

My personal go-to: Plug it into a computer via USB, press the PS button, and then unplug it. Works like a charm every time!
