How to Speed Up Steam Unpacking

Speeding up Steam unpacking can feel like trying to teach a snail to sprint, but fear not! Start by ensuring your hard drive has plenty of free space; Steam needs room to breathe (or unpack, in this case). Also, consider upgrading to an SSD if you're still rocking an old-school HDD - it's like swapping out your snail for a rabbit. Lastly, keep your Steam client updated. Valve tweaks the engine now and then, which can improve unpacking speed.

Honestly, just get an SSD. It's the single best upgrade you can make to speed up unpacking games on Steam.

I moved Steam to an SSD last year, and let me tell you, it was like going from dial-up to broadband. Games that took ages to unpack now do it in a fraction of the time. Highly recommend making the switch if you haven't already!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
