Upgrade your hardware! Better CPU and more RAM can make a big difference. XCOM 2 can be pretty demanding on older systems.
Got an SSD? Install XCOM 2 on it. Faster load times and better performance overall.
Disable V-Sync and lower resolution. Trust me, the game still looks great and runs a lot faster!
If you're playing on PC, try installing some mods that improve performance. There's a great mod called 'Evac All' that cuts down on mission time too!
