To sync a PS3 controller without a cable, press the PS button and make sure the console is on. Hold it close to the console and it should auto-pair!

You need a cable for the initial sync. After that, you can use it wirelessly. PS3 controllers don't support Bluetooth pairing from scratch.

Just plug in a USB cable for the first sync, then after that, use it wirelessly. There's no way to do it completely without the cable once.

Had to do this myself. First, connect it with a cable. Once synced, then you can go wireless. No way around the first connection!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
