Super easy! Just plug the Afterglow controller into the PS3 using the USB cable it came with. Then press the PS button. Boom, synced!

Plug in the USB receiver that comes with the Afterglow controller into one of the PS3's USB ports, then press and hold the home button on the controller until it syncs.
