I did this last week! Just make sure you have a Torx screwdriver and follow a guide on YouTube. Take your time and be gentle with the cables.

First, unplug your PS3 and remove the top cover by unscrewing the screws and sliding it off. Then, locate the disc drive and unscrew it from the casing. Be careful when disconnecting the ribbon cables to avoid damage!
