From my experience, the 'Autoplay' option is the culprit. Just flip that switch in settings and you're good!
If you want to delete recommended songs from your playlists, turn off the 'Autoplay' option. Go to Spotify Settings > Playback and toggle off the 'Autoplay similar songs when your music ends'.
Just deselect the 'Autoplay' in settings. Done and dusted!
