Shift lock is annoying! Deactivate it by clicking the menu button and unchecking 'Shift Lock Switch' in the settings.

Easy peasy! Just head to the game settings by clicking the menu button (three lines) at the top left, then go to 'Settings' and toggle off the 'Shift Lock Switch'.
