You can unmute your mic on PS4 by pressing the PS button on your controller, going to the 'Sound/Devices' menu, then selecting 'Mute Microphone' to toggle it off.

Try holding the PS button, go to 'Adjust Devices,' and switch the 'Microphone Level' back up. Easy peasy!
