How to Update Steam Games
Updating Steam games is super easy! Just open up Steam, go to your 'Library', right-click on the game you wanna update, and click on 'Properties'. From there, go to the 'Updates' tab and you can choose how you want updates to be managed. Usually, Steam does its magic and updates your games automatically unless you tell it not to.

Steam's auto-update feature is a blessing and a curse. Great for staying up-to-date, but RIP to your bandwidth if you forget to set limits during peak hours.
Honestly, just leave Steam running in the background. It updates your games automatically. You literally have to do nothing.
If you're like me and absolutely cannot wait for a game to update, you can force an update by restarting Steam. Just close it completely and then open it again. Steam will check for updates when it starts up, and if there's an update pending for any game, it should start downloading it right away.
